THURSDAY JAZZ SERIES
Featuring noted jazz
pianist Andy Roberts
and an always-exciting rotation of guests.
Come on out to one of
the most popular jazz series in the region, on
the first Thursday of each month, October
through June with the exception of January.

Thursday, February 4th, 2010: FIRST
THURSDAY JAZZ with Andy Roberts and
Guests. The First Thursday
Jazz at MJ's continues on February 4th with a
tribute to early American jazz music. "From
New Orleans to New York, 1900 - 1950" will
bring listeners a taste of the blues and
dixieland of the Big Easy, as well as the stride
piano and Be-bop sound of the Big Apple.
Mt. Gretna pianist Andy Roberts will host the
concert along with area legend Tom Strohman
on woodwinds, Lancaster guitarist Tom Witmer,
drummer Dave Lazorcik, and long time New
Orleans based musician, bassist Ed Wise
who moved to Philadelphia a few years back
following the Katrina hurricane tragedy in New
Orleans.

MJ's offers a light-sandwich and snack menu
along with a relaxing atmosphere for live music.
The coffeehouse staff invites patrons ages 21

LESTER HIRSH
A talented (and Grammy-nominated)
singer/songwriter, guitarist and poet, Lester
Hirsh performs a range of material, inspired by
folk, Brazilian jazz, country and popular
musical genres. He was largely inspired by Bob
Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Gordon Lightfoot, and many
other 1960's artists. Admission: Donation.
